Stratocaster 60th Anniversary 54 Relic 2-Tone Sunburst #1648
Superb 2014 60th Anniversary '54 Relic Stratocaster in 2-Tone Sunburst. Sold by us new. These were a limited run in 2014 produced as extremely accurate replicas of the original 1954 Strat. The Relic work looks amazing with loads of authentic looking checking to the nitro lacquer. Early '54 features including Lightweight (7lb 1oz) one piece Ash body, early beveled edge pickup covers, round hole backplate with serial number and the amazing sounding 54 pickups with Alnico 3 magnets. The only non-authentic feature being the larger frets and 9.5 radius so plays very well. It sounds superb and these pickups are a current favorite of ours with a really 'woody' tone. The neck is a nice hand full without feeling overboard. This is a beautiful standout guitar. It's been in a large collection and is in excellent condition. In common with most of these guitars, the volume knob has a crack (this is due to the period correct type of plastic used). However, this has been stabilised/repaired and is perfectly sound.
